"One of the greatest gifts you can ever give is your time"
Volunteers are the heart of Hands, Hooves, and Hope. Our program would not be possible without their dedication, loyalty, and hard work.
HHH offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities. Some require horse experience, but many do not. All we need is your willingness to give of yourself and commit your time. Interested in volunteering? Make sure to fill out our Volunteer Registration Form.
Horse Leader -This person should be extremely experienced in handling horses in all situations and requires the approval of the Head Instructor.
Sidewalker - This person assists the rider according to the instructor’s directions. Sidewalker training is done during orientation.
Grooming Assistant - This volunteer takes direction from the Tack Coordinator about the preparation of horses for classes. This job will include grooming and some general horse care and handling. This volunteer should have a basic idea of how to groom a horse and maintain safety while in the stall with a horse.
Equine Caregivers - Responsible for feeding, cleaning pastures/stalls and moving animals. The Equine Care Givers must have a good working knowledge and skills with horses. There is a shadow/training program that must be completed before working independently. These volunteers must be 16 and older, have at least 2 plus years of horse experience, be willing to work week or weekends, and able to lift fifty pounds. This requires a regularly scheduled commitment of three to five hours per week.
Ranch Hands - Help with building and ground maintenance. Small construction projects, landscaping, repairing fence, servicing the vehicles, etc are important jobs that keep the Ranch safe for horses and children. Hours are flexible, seasonally/as needed by the ranch. Must have construction background knowledge, access to power tools. Mechanical skills are also needed for the care of equipment.
FUNDRAISING - If you’re a go-getter and love to talk with people, you’d be great at helping us round-up auction items and sponsors for our Back to the 80’s gala or finding contributions for our children who are on full scholarships.
TACK CLEANERS - This requires no horse experience and children with their parents can come out and help. We are always in need for volunteers to dust and wipe down the equipment that we use on the horses as well as the items we use with our students.
